David J. Cordier
Professional Biography

 David J. Cordier is the owner of Cordier Antiques & Fine Art located in Camp Hill, PA. Established in 1984 Cordier Antiques & Fine Art specializes in the purchase and sale of antiques and art, estate liquidations and certified appraisals of antiques and personal property. David Cordier has been an antiques and jewelry dealer since 1980 and an appraiser since 1990.

 Cordier Antiques & Fine Art has appraised major estates and collections in the region and liquidated significant estates, collections, and personal property through auction, Internet, and private sale including: A gentleman’s collection of classic cars, autographs, coins and guns ($800,000); a collection of antique Americana ($180,000); a model train collection ($135,000); and a lady’s estate of art glass, Boehm birds and jewelry ($325,000).

Cordier Antiques & Fine Art customers can be found in all fifty states and over twelve foreign countries including Japan, Italy, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal, New Zealand, Scotland, France, Australia, Singapore and China.

Cordier Antiques & Fine Art has exhibited at many venues, including: Baltimore, Maryland; Atlantic City, New Jersey; and New York City. The Camp Hill Gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday and by appointment.

 Mr. Cordier attended the “Winter Institute” at Winterthur Museum in Wilmington, Delaware, a three-week graduate level program on American Decorative Arts. David has participated in programs such as Penn State’s “The Arts & Decorative Arts in Pennsylvania” and The New York Silver Society’s “Conference On Silver” in New York City. David has also participated in appraiser continuing education at New York University and Georgetown University. Mr. Cordier holds a Masters in Business Administration from Penn State.

 Mr. Cordier is a member in good standing of the Certified Appraisers Guild of America, the Antiques and Collectibles Dealers Association, Inc., the Antiques Dealers Association of Pennsylvania and the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors. Mr. Cordier is a licensed Auctioneer.

 David Cordier has conducted appraisal clinics for such organizations as The Questers; Millersburg Historical Society; Lebanon County Historical Society; Friends of Fort Hunter; and The Friends of the Pennsylvania State Museum. He has also lectured on fine art for The Pennsylvania and Maryland Auctioneers Associations Annual Conventions and stoneware for the Heritage Center Museum in Lancaster. Cordier Antiques & Fine Art was voted “Best Of” by Harrisburg Magazine in 2004 and Reader’s Choice in prior years.

 Since 2002, Mr. Cordier has written a bi-weekly feature column, “Eye on Antiques”, for The Harrisburg Sunday Patriot-News (circulation 120,000) , which focuses on antiques and related events in central Pennsylvania.

 Cordier Antiques & Fine Art is an underwriter of The Antiques Road Show on WITF, public television.
